The Redstate incest story hit pretty big today, with a link from Andrew Sullivan, who seemed to admire Erick’s nerve for saying it, Hot Air, where Ed Morrissey took Erick at his word for his lame walk-back (how exactly is that a walkback?), and HuffPo picked it up, too. Erickson shopped the same lame excuse over at Ace, in the comments. Sorry, dude, we can all read. Your implication was crystal clear. “And, as if lifted from the pages of Deliverance, she has his name tattooed on her back. Think about that one for a minute.”
There was no universal condemnation, which doesn’t surprise me much. I think, though, that it’s a function of the distaste both sides now have for the Johnstons, no longer useful to either.
Anyhoo, here are today’s quickies:
Caleb makes fun of the President for being startled by a…bass drum? (Love the new website)
Keep blaming Beck, and the murderers will go free. Don’t we take these arguments apart when they’re about videogames?
This is why I love Ed Morrissey.
Mayor “How Do You Want Your Change?”
Hey, Diana, Got Milk?
This is not how most people will use this device.
I think that’s enough for today.

Soon as you produce evidence of your moral outrage at the press far and wide making the exact same WTF comments about Angelina Jolie I’ll take your faux indignation at Erick a tad more seriously.
Your website is cool too, btw. I hear some smart guy did the logo.
Yeah, my logo is cool. And I will, as soon as I become a Hollywood reporter.
So in other words, you don’t have any genuine moral outrage, just partisan political ire within your chosen field of complaint. Check.
Hey, is that any way to talk to a colleague?? WAHHHHHH! I’m gonna tell thuh editerz on you!! WAHHHHHHHHH!
Ahh I see the what you did there. Now if only it were clever, funny, and well executed you’d be set.
It wasn’t a joke. It was a fuckin’ transcript!
Yeah of you and your sister going Levi.
My sister died when she was a baby, dickbag.
I find it’s best, when delivering solemn news, to include the word dickbag. That’s just made of class.
“Dickbag” is only part of Tommy’s repertoire Caleb (you horse’s hole). Sometimes, it’s “meatbag” so step off bub. As for me, I prefer to use odd words to express the nerd love you two have going. You guys are like a unison of 0′s and 1′s twisted around in some DNA, Helix-shaped, blog-lovers’ Kama Sutra postiion.
What’s with the striped pig Caleb is using as an avatar? My screen is off. I don’t get it Caleb. You more than make up for the piggie with the multi-colored midgets holding hands and dancing around it.
I want to thank everyone for commenting on my dag. People have also offered to give it a paint job. I appreciate it, but, I’m allergic to paint. Unless it’s lead-based and imported from China and I can get a good number. My religion kicks in sometimes and will overpower an allergen.
I must be honest with this blog. Tommy has already put two (2) links to Caleb’s blog and Cube has gotten zero (0). I”m hurt. I mean, what the Hell? My first ever journey into this pit of data and I could get a link. Hell, Caleb said he’d have me on his blogroll. Which is good with Russian dressing.
Well, dickbags, I’lll be popping off some sort of suggestion box to see if anyone has anything they’d like me to discuss on Unusual Signal. Until then, adios.
I gotta push my own joint. WTF. http://cubicpolitics.wordpress.com/
Oh. Rather than me think and hurt myself, just throw suggestions for topics in the Camp Obama article for the show.

On the blamin Beck piece,
“GOTTLIEB: I like how you’re using the word militia. I mean, you’re trying to label everybody as militia, as being, you know, evil, crazy people out there. You know, there are 90 million gun owners in America and they’re not members of militias. The bottom line is, the Pew Research Center just did a survey that shows that Barack Obama is the most polarizing president we have had in four decades”
I find that the more interesting point. For all the eye rolling the left has done about Bush being a polarizing figure, dividing us more and more,.. it would seem the guy who ran against that is even worse, completely tone deaf to half the country.
Beck’s just tapping into what many of us feel in the center right to right. I like Beck, he’s funny, he hasn’t offended me in any way, and he makes some liberals and pinkie in the air republicans tear their hair out. That’s always a plus for me. I haven’t heard a whiff of hate on his show, no call to arms, no urging to violence. None at all. In fact, he’s gone out of his way to push for a King Ghandish nonviolent civil disobedience,.
how can liberals be against that as a tactic for expressing displeasure at the government?
A tactic they pioneered?
But when we do it, the left commentariat goes collectively ape?
The word miltia has never come up on our side. We make up huge numbers of the police and military, why would we advocate violence against our own? That’s nuts. I couldn’t find a more recent poll, but this will do,
“While recent polls show that roughly one-third of the public considers itself Republican, 57 percent of the active-duty military identified themselves with that party – with two-thirds of officers, compared to 49 percent of enlisted personnel, checking the Republican box.
Compared to 32 percent of the civilian public who described themselves as Democrats, only nine percent of military officers and 16 percent of enlisted personnel did so. Twenty-nine percent of the military respondents either said they were independent or declined to answer the question. ”
http://www.lewrockwell.com/ips/lobe43.html
Numbers came from the Military Times. Many an older voter will argue that the military is as mixed as the general public, maybe even more liberal, that may have been true pre-1973, then the draft ended. After that the all volunteer military, the professional service came to be. An entirely self selected group, where personal motivations mattered, as opposed to a conscript military.
The libertarians largely go republican, so from where I see this, why would a group that makes up the majority of the forces that stand for authority, for order, opt to begin rampaging in the streets ala some Sanchez Olbermann fevered nightmare? Despite all the bigotry and prejudice of the fringe left we aren’t going to start an armed insurrection, it’s not our nature, and they’d know that if they knew a conservative, rather than just talk about them among other leftwingers.
I do think our host is more thoughtful than that. I do apreciate the video game reference, I play Halo, does that make me a potential menace too? It would seem he doesn’t think so,. just as a side question,.. I’m curious,..
if you play video games, what do you play?
Shooters, RPG’s, something else?
Many vets I know play shooters, we find em relaxing. What do liberals play, the same games, or some other type?
PCL, I agree that Cube’s house needs some serious redecorating (ditto for Tommy’s, s/b more like Caleb’s, which looks awesome). What great new blogs, though
Hey, where’s Michelle, my belle?

….and you’d NEVER do such a thing
Ha! I say this with nothing but love, Caleb.
Hi Diana! We missed you so much last Saturday.
Yes, Cube does need to do some serious dressing up on that blog of his. Caleb’s does look awesome, and I’m biased about Tommy’s–being his prez and all that.
Michelle and I were saying how we should start one with you (via email), wouldn’t that be a scream? Talks of blogs and bitches (lol)! We all have experience with those
Good to see you galpal
I’m not dressing up my blog. My blog likes being nude. And, I know you ladies like that. Oh yeah, I wrote up the topic for Unusable Signal for tomrw. Put suggestions in the box that is not there yet.
your knees have to hurt a little bit after bowing at least 5 times a day to the nobama
Fine, Cube, be boring! LMAO–smart ass! Put this in your suggestion box!!
I thought you like it whan I broadcast nude and drunk.
LET OFF SOME STEAM BENNET!
Name the movie…
LMAO!! No comment.
Check out the new article PCL. I put it there cuz I think it got you..
LMAO–oh really??
Thanks, PCL! I should be able to make it this weekend, though. Listening to it in the archives as we speak….really funny bit they had going…great at improv! Tommy told me several months ago that I should start a blog (or even write an autobiographical book about a personal drama/tragedy I went through), but I’ve quite honestly lost some of my passion since the election and don’t have as much time now. Do you have any ideas, though? Just curious.
Of course I have ideas, Diana–they are all evil, naturally. (LOL)
Of course, we would be taking out the B.O.B.–with some exceptions (I respect friendship). Then we would, of course, get to ‘toys’ and all that good shit about what we women really want (not just that shit they talk about on Oprah)–I think we have the age groups of real women pretty covered, yes?
Let’s see, there’s always the talk of ‘men’–always a stimulating discussion–we could have guest commentators like Tommy, Caleb, and Cube. Politics–why some Hillary supporters just can’t let it go (but that should be in the discussion about the B.O.B.s) even though she is working for the ‘man’.
I could probably come up with a shitload more.
Seriously, Diana, I think that autobiographical book would be good, and therapeutic for you, and others too.
