As I reported Saturday, not only is the claim that “Rush Limbaugh’s ratings have doubled” since January a lie, the Washington Post’s source for that claim refused to even characterize his estimate as equivalent to an industry “rating.”
That hasn’t stopped the lie from spreading, of course. On “The Chris Matthews Show” Sunday, the host repeated the claim to his panel. Why wouldn’t he? He read it in the Washington Post!
Clarence Page does a nice job of taking on the idea that even if true, it somehow means a gain for Republican obstructionism, making pretty much the same point I did.
